A collaboration between Growing High Point, N.C. Cooperative Extension Guilford County Center's Food Security Program, Helping Hands High Point, Savor the Moment Bakery, and the Carl Chavis branch of the High Point YMCA provided free produce boxes to community seniors and individuals facing disabilities.
50 holiday boxes were made specifically for seniors and individuals facing disabilities in our community. These boxes were filled with farm fresh eggs and locally sourced produce courtesy of Growing High Point, accompanied by holiday treats donated by Savor the Moment Bakery. In addition, holiday cards created by children at the Carl Chavis branch of the High Point YMCA were also included.
Today, Helping Hands will be delivering these produce boxes. In addition to these holiday boxes, Growing High Point is providing fresh, organic produce to bolster the Helping Hands Pantry to serve over 400 clients.
